Exploring New Reactions Involving Radicals and Electron Transfer

Super Electron-Donors

Super electron-donors are formed by reaction of base with a wide range of functional groups. These donors then function as strong single electron donors to appropriate acceptors, affording radical intermediates.

Grubbs-Stoltz Reagent

The reagent pair KOtBu/Et3SiH provides multiple reactive intermediates. This is an unusual situation for substrate molecules and necessarily leads to unprecedented chemistry.

Photoredox Chemistry

Photoredox chemistry provides great opportunities for discovery of reactions. We recently announced the first examples of radical-cation Smiles rearrangements.

Our interests also extend to other aspects of organic chemistry. To find out more about our research, see our research interests and publications pages
